What is YES DAY?
FOR 24HRS YOU SAY YES TO EVERYTHING THE KIDS ASK!
What’s it all about?
This is a day where the kids make the rules and the family has fun together, but do you know where the idea came from?
Yes Day is a children’s picture book written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld which tells the story of a little boy living his Yes Day, his favourite day of the year. From eating pizza for breakfast, having a food fight and staying up late, every request he makes is met with a Yes.

Let us read the book to you below
If you don’t have access to the book yourself watch the video below and we will read it to you. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
This Day is all about your wildest wishes coming true and is the best day of the year.
In 2021, the book became the inspiration for the Netflix family comedy movie starring Jennifer Garner, who has been celebrating Yes Day annually with her own family for a number of years. The book and now the film are inspiring families all across the globe to practise Yes Day in their own family and show the kids that their parents really can be fun! Bringing families closer by removing the word NO for the day.
Why not read the book together and watch the movie. Once you know what it’s all about, sit down with your family and get to work planning your Yes Day. Don’t forget to come up with some ground rules everyone can agree on and your 5 Big Asks to make sure your day is a success.
We can’t wait to see what fun and adventures you get up to on your Day. Please make sure you tag us @YesDay_au on Instagram or @YesDayAustralia on Facebook
